On the 2nd of March, we celebrated world book day. The children in 4th class had a great day learning about different authors and speaking about their favourite books. The 4th class boys and girls also took a trip to our school library to read to 1st class children.
The boys and girls in 4th class had a great day showing all their friends their Halloween costumes and doing Halloween activities in school. They really enjoyed making our chocolate witches hats.
As part of math week, fourth class created a maths trail for the boys and girls in first class. Fourth class thought about what math concepts the first class children would know and made a math trail based on these concepts. They helped the boys and girls complete the trail on yard.
Fourth class had a great time helping first class. They loved seeing the boys and girls figure out the questions they made for them.
The boys and girls enjoyed experimenting with colours as we learned about primary, secondary and tertiary colours in our Art lesson. The children created their own colour wheels using primary and secondary colours and then mixed colours to make their own colour wheel with tertiary colours also.
The boys and girls were challenged this week in fourth class to create the longest paper chain using only one piece of paper, scissors and glue. The boys and girls worked together in groups to think of ways they could make their paper chain the longest. Using our meter stick, we then measured all of the paper chains they created to find out which group made the longest. The longest paper chain in our class was 2metres long!
